The next Governors Business Lunch will be held on Thursday 16 September 2010.

Guest Speaker: Mike Brady (Up There Cazaly). Mike will be speaking about Prostate Cancer awareness and he will also be singing a few footy tunes.

Time: 12noon to 2.00pm

Cost: $75pp includes 2 courses and drinks

The Board has supported the establishment of "The Governors", a coterie group of Latrobe Golf Club. The name of the Governor's, of course comes from the position held by Charles Latrobe, Victoria's first Governor and the Governor after whom the golf club was named. Initially the Governors will be hosting monthly business lunches for members and their guests. The format is for a 12 noon start and 2pm finish. This allows people to be return back to work in a reasonable time frame or spend a relaxing afternoon at the Club for a game of golf after lunch. The cost is $75 for a 2 course lunch with drinks included and a guest speaker.

We are encouraging members and their guests to join the Governors and be part of what we hope will be an exciting, informative and beneficial coterie group.

Initially the Governors group will be structured around a lunch concept that is not intended to be "LGC centric" however is intended to provide an opportunity for golf club members and their guests to meet other members and other guests in an environment where they can network and socialize. We propose to have a guest speaker at each luncheon who will be informative or entertaining and hopefully both.

Whilst not wanting to be "LGC centric" we will also take the opportunity to briefly update the Governors on LGC issues and plans.

The concept of the Governors lunches involves the purchase of a lunch package that will trigger membership of the coterie group.  Members of the golf club and their guests wishing to attend single lunches can do as guests of the Governors however it will be the purchase of the group lunch package that determines membership of the coterie group.

The package represents a discount of the sum of individual lunches.  Any lunches that you cannot attend are fully transferrable.  The lunches will generally be held at the Club with the expectation that at least one per annum which will be held in the city.

For a prepayment of $600 you can join the Governors which allows you to attend each of the 10 lunches plus you receive a Governors  membership badge.

 Any unattended lunches can be used for guests at future lunches on the calendar. Furthermore, sponsors packages are available where your business can sponsor a lunch. A Sponsors package is $500 which allows you to display some signage and enjoy the lunch for yourself and two guests.

The number of attendees at the lunches may be limited and we plan to allocate seating to allow groups and individuals to mix with other Governors and their guests.

We hope the sessions will be dynamic, thought provoking, opportunistic and a bit of fun.
