The Committee
Latrobe Golf Club has a committee structure to oversee operation of the club. The General Committee is elected annually in May and comprises the President, Vice President, Captain, Treasurer and five general committee members. Membership of the General Committee is open to any member of the club who has been a member for at least five years.
Structure
There are six standing subcommittees which report to the General Committee; they are the Executive, Match, Course, Finance, House and Social, and Youth Development. These committees normally meet every month.
In addition, a number of planning groups for specific projects are appointed as required, such as Building, Future Strategy Planning, and Constitution and By Laws Review.
Committee Members, 2009
Membership of the General Committee and the subcommittees on which those members serve are as follows.
President: Mr David Madigan
David has been a member of Latrobe Golf Club since 1984 and has previously served as Honourary Treasurer between 1996 and 2001and as Vice President between 2005 and 2006. David is a Certified Practicing Accountant and works as the Group Financial Controller for a large Australian Law Firm.
Vice President: Mr David Gorr
David has been a member of Latrobe Golf Club 1995 and has been on Committee since 2005. Now retired, David used to work as a pharmacist and also ran a computer company.
Captain: Mr Gary Lennox
Gary has been a member of Latrobe Golf Club since 2000 and has served on the General Committee since 2006. Gary works in the Metropolitan area as a Body Corporate Manager.
Treasurer: Mr Paul Duske
Paul has been a member of Latrobe Golf Club since 1997 and was elected to the Position of Treasurer in 2007. Paul is an Investment Banker working for Gresham Partners Ltd.
General Committee:
Mr Peter Barnes
Peter has been a member of Latrobe Golf Club since 1991 and was elected as a Committee member in 2008. Peter ownes and runs a Real Estate Company.
Mr John Denton
John has been a member of Latrobe Golf Club since 1995 and was elected as a Committee member in 2008 after filling a casual vacancy in 2007. John runs his own Legal practice and was appointed as the Club Solicitor in 2007.
Mr George Smith
George has been a member of Latrobe Golf Club since 1973 and has served on the General Committee since 2001. Now retired, George used to work as a Butcher.
Mr Tony Power
Tony has been a member of Latrobe Golf Club since 1991 and was appointed onto Committee in 2009. Tony's profession is in teaching.
